Performer/composer, sound poet, and visual artist Tomomi Adachi considers sound poetry a foundation for his vocal performances, frequently appearing with live electronics and his own self-made instruments. He has collaborated with artists including Jaap Blonk, Carl Stone, Toshi Ichiyanagi, Annette Krebs, DJ Sniff, Jennifer Walshe, Zbigniew Karkowski, Butch Morris, Jon Rose and Takashi Ishida and performed internationally at venues ranging from the Tate Modern and Centre Pompidou to Roulette in NYC. Adachi has recently focused his activities on solo performance and the little known tradition of Japanese sound poetry. He was a guest of the Artist in Residence Program of the DAAD in 2012 and currently divides his time between Berlin and Tokyo.
