6. May 2026. For the opening of CRITICAL FRIENDS, Lorena Izquierdo presented a series of performative interventions that traversed the exhibition space, activating and destabilizing the logic of collecting. She questions how, as objects are extended beyond their original function, collecting becomes both a method and a subject of inquiry. Through voice, body, and audience interaction, the artist brought the impulse to preserve into tension with its absurd dimensions. Through accumulation, repetition, and displacement, the performance interrogated value, classification, and the urge to collect, revealing its invisible structures and inherent contradictions.
