26 October 2024. For the grand finale of RE:VISION, Kinga Ötvös wandered through the marvelous cacophony of the group exhibition celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Kunstverein Tiergarten. Drawing inspiration from both the works on show and the stacks of catalogs filling the space, she translated these into a performance full of surprises – making full use of a dramatic range that extends from bel canto to cyborg punk.
Kinga Ötvös is a shapeshifter and vocal acrobat based in Berlin. With academic degrees in voice and acting, their art landed at the confluence of territories encompassing music, theater, drag and performance art. Kinga recently released the album “Fluid Oratorio” and EP “Ice Requiem”. Their music is an attempt to deconstruct formal and musical archetypes: phrases reminiscent of sacral music competing with cyborg voices within a fluid electronic context of ethereal soft-dark energies.
